There\u2019s continued funding for services, infrastructure, and workforce development, which is a step in the right direction. But for many organisations on the ground, one challenge keeps coming up: finding and keeping the right people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Johnson Recruitment, we work closely with organisations across the mental health and community services space. Lately, we\u2019ve been hearing the same story. Services are under strain, teams are stretched, and it\u2019s getting harder to recruit in key roles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the hardest-to-fill areas right now include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\"><b>Mental Health Nurses<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\">.<\/span> Especially those with community or dual diagnosis experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\"><b>Psychologists and Clinicians<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\">.<\/span> With strong demand and limited availability<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\"><b>Youth and Child Mental Health Workers<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\">.<\/span> Particularly in trauma-informed care<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\"><b>Peer Support Workers<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #c20030;\">.<\/span> As more services value lived experience, but need help building supportive recruitment pathways<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recent budget includes funding to expand training places, upgrade mental health facilities, and further implement recommendations from the Royal Commission. These investments are essential, but they also create more demand for skilled staff in an already competitive market.
